We assessed the services provided by NHS organisations, and asked women for their views. Maternity services are managed by NHS trusts, but care can also be provided by GPs or at home.

Overall findings
Findings from our national review of maternity services indicate that women are positive about services. However, improvements are still needed from pregnancy to after giving birth.

What mothers say
Mothers praised the overall quality of care provided by NHS maternity services in our survey. But results highlight specific areas of concern including postnatal care, communication, food and cleanliness.
