Investigations and interventions
The Healthcare Commission investigates serious service failures in the NHS in England that meet the necessary criteria, or when requested to do so by the Secretary of State for Health. An investigation involves developing an understanding of, and obtaining evidence on, the reasons for the serious failure, and making recommendations to prevent it happening again.
